Shelly Sun is famous in the franchising world for she is the woman behind the success of BrightStar Care, the world’s leading provider of full continuum care such as medical care, nonmedical care, and medical staffing. Shelly is the chief executive officer and the co-founder of BrightStar Care. She founded the company along with her husband, J.D. Sun and they have twin sons. She took up Bachelor of Science major in accounting in the University of Tennessee and finished her Master of Science in the University of Colorado.
Before Shelly became a successful entrepreneur, she first worked as a vice president of finance for Avolar, a United Airlines subsidiary. She also worked with CNA and Blue Cross Blue Shield where she held an executive finance position. Aside from being a successful entrepreneur, Shelly Sun is also a successful writer. She is the author of the bestselling book, “Grow Smart, Risk Less, “a book that gives valuable information on how to multiply businesses through franchising.
In 2011, Shelly Sun appeared on “Undercover Boss”, a CBS reality TV show. In 2009, she became the youngest International Franchise Association Entrepreneur of the Year. Shelly is an enigmatic leader whose leadership style focuses more on positivity and finding solutions rather than focusing on all kinds of negative energy.
